Restore your body’s rhythm, revitalize your life

Unlock your body’s natural healing abilities with Craniosacral Therapy

Wish there was a therapy that could “hear” your body’s subtle messages to locate and heal the core of physical discomfort or emotional turbulence?

Good news. Craniosacral (aka cranial sacral or CST) is that therapy. A gentle, yet effective treatment that goes beyond the surface to understand what your body is communicating and nurture it’s innate ability to heal and restore itself – physically, psychologically, and spiritually.

How? Your body has a craniosacral rhythm, a subtle ebb and flow of cerebrospinal fluid around the brain and spinal cord that can be felt throughout the body. Injuries and stress from everyday life disrupts this rhythm, creating blockages that lead to anxiety, illness, or pain.

By applying gentle touch to specific areas of the head, spine, and pelvis, CST therapists facilitate the release of obstructed areas. As the body’s rhythm is restored, it calms the nervous system and encourages natural healing and detoxification processes.

Craniosacral therapy can be highly effective for:

  • Migraines and headaches
  • Traumatic brain injuries and concussions
  • Whiplash and other neck/spine injuries
  • Sleep disorders
  • Chronic pain (such as fibromyalgia)
  • Neck, back, and pelvic pain
  • Repetitive-use injuries (such as tennis elbow)
  • TMJ dysfunction
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Developmental and behavioral concerns in children
  • And more!
Its gentle, non-invasive nature makes CST deeply relaxing and appropriate for all ages.

A science-driven path to wellness

Your craniosacral system is a dynamic network of the cranial bones, membranes, sacrum, and cerebrospinal fluid that cushions your brain and spinal cord. Delicate yet robust, this system plays a pivotal role in maintaining the balance of your central nervous system – influencing everything from nerve function to stress levels.

The heart of Craniosacral Therapy lies in understanding the profound relationship between these two systems.

Imagine your body as a violin. When the strings (your craniosacral rhythm) is “out of tune,” it can affect the “music” (or functioning of your central nervous system) – leading to physical and emotional imbalance. The harmony between the two is crucial.

As CST balances your craniosacral system, guiding it back to its natural pace, it’s no wonder studies show long-lasting pain relief and improved quality of life when receiving this treatment.

We invite you to experience the delicate touch of cranial therapy that is paving the way for renewed health and vitality.

“Dhwani did an excellent job. I felt relaxed and comfortable. The environment was welcoming. I highly recommend Whole Being Massage.”

Angela S

“I was gratefully able to get a same-day appointment to help with my raging headache. John was very kind and offered other sound ideas to help with the headache/tense muscles (pressure points, supplements) for me to try on my own. He really listened to me, and targeted the massage to my most-needed areas, which greatly reduced the pain. Thank you!”
Janean Y

“This was my first ever massage and Dhwani did awesome! Very relaxing. Definitely will be back!”

Frequently Asked Questions

What Can I Expect During a Craniosacral Therapy Session?

During a standalone session, you’ll lie on a massage table, fully clothed. The therapist will gently place their hands on various locations of your body, such as your head, neck, and pelvis, to assess and tune into the rhythm of the fluid that circulates through your central nervous system (your craniosacral rhythm).

Next, your therapist will typically start by resetting the flow of fluid within the craniosacral system itself. This takes approximately 10-20 seconds and allows the system to reorganize and pause briefly (if needed). This pause is referred to as a Still Point and signals the body to activate functions of healing, rest, and integration, while down-regulating the stress response of fight or flight.

Your therapist will continue your session by using soft touches (no more than the weight of a nickel) on various points throughout your body to release restrictions in the soft tissue surrounding each area.

You may feel a tingling sensation in one or more areas as fluids begin to flow freely throughout your body. You may even fall asleep due to the deeply relaxing nature of this treatment.

Can Craniosacral Therapy Be Used in Conjunction With Other Treatments?

Yes, CST is often used as a complementary therapy alongside other treatments. It can enhance the effectiveness of physical therapy, massage, and other therapeutic practices.

How Many Craniosacral Therapy Sessions Will I Need?

The number of sessions needed varies from person to person and depends on the specific issues being addressed. Many experience significant improvements in just one or two sessions, while others may require ongoing sessions over a period of time to achieve the desired result.

Is Craniosacral Therapy Safe?

Yes, CST is generally safe for people of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. It’s a non-invasive, gentle therapy that poses minimal risk. However, it’s important to consult with a healthcare provider before beginning any new therapy, especially if you have a specific health condition.

For children, it’s been used to address issues such as colic, ear infections, and sleep disturbances, as well as behavioral problems and learning difficulties in older children.

For teens and adults, it’s highly effective in treating a wide range of physical and psychological conditions, including migraines, chronic neck and back pain, stress and anxiety, motor-coordination impairments, spinal cord injuries, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and much more.

Will I Feel Immediate Relief After a Session?

Many clients report feeling a sense of deep relaxation and ease immediately after a Craniosacral Therapy session. While some individuals may experience relief from symptoms after just one session, others might notice a gradual improvement over several sessions. The response to therapy varies based on individual health conditions and the body’s unique healing process.
