Which Treatment Is Right For Me?

We have many different options, and you really can’t go wrong. All of our practitioners take the time to find out what you’re looking for and customize every session to meet your needs. We will even create a custom session if you want to try multiple modalities.

Why Do I Have To Give A Credit Card Number To Schedule, And Is It Secure?

When you schedule, we ask for a valid credit card number to protect our business and practitioners from no-show appointments. Your card will not be charged until after your appointment. Information is stored securely in our PCI-compliant scheduling software.

Are Walk-Ins And Same-Day Appointments Available?

Depending on practitioner availability, we can often take same-day massage appointments but can rarely accommodate walk-ins.

If you want to book a last-minute massage appointment or sauna session please call us.

Appointments can be booked online up to two hours before the appointment time. If you don’t see anything available online, please call us.

Do You Have Evening And Weekend Appointments Available?

Yes! We have practitioners who offer evening and weekend appointments.

What Session Length Should I Schedule?

Book a 60-minute session if you need focused work on a specific area (or two) or are looking for a basic relaxation massage.

Most of our practitioners feel a 75-minute session is ideal for complete treatment and the “sweet spot” for those unsure of how long a treatment to book.

90-minute or longer sessions are great for incorporating full-body sessions with some focused work.

Full-body Lymph, Sarga, or custom sessions combining multiple modalities typically require at least two hours.

Attire & Etiquette

What Should I Wear To My Appointment?

Wear what makes you comfortable. You will disrobe for your treatment, so what you wear to your appointment doesn’t matter much. And we don’t judge. Some people come straight from the office, dressed in evening wear for date night, or workout clothes after the gym.

What Should I Wear During My Massage Or Bodywork Session?

As a general rule, undress to your level of comfort. For most, this means fully undressed or down to your underwear, as it allows us to work on muscles in the hips, low back, hamstrings, quads, and glutes.

Your practitioner will drape you under a sheet on the massage table, keeping sensitive areas covered at all times.

We completely understand you may not be comfortable undressing to this level for various reasons. We’ll work over whatever level of clothing you are most comfortable wearing.

Should I Still Come In If I Woke Up With A Cold?

Nope. Please reschedule your appointment if you have any symptoms of a fever, cold or flu, systemic infection, or contagious skin condition to avoid exposing our practitioners and other clients to illness. In these cases, massage can also interrupt the natural healing process of your body.

Out of courtesy, please provide as much notice as possible. If you’re not feeling well the night before your appointment, please let us know BEFORE the morning.

Before & After

Should I Shower Before My Massage?

It’s a matter of personal preference. Some people like to shower before their massage, while others prefer to shower after.

We do, of course, ask for reasonable standards of hygiene. Please shower before coming in if (for example) you’ve been backpacking for a week or just fought in an MMA tournament.

If you have clean hair or makeup, we’ll do our best to keep creams and oils away from your hair or face.

What If I Didn’t Have Time To Shave My Legs, Wash My Hair, Get A Pedicure, Etc.?

We don’t judge. Working in this field, we’ve seen about everything and won’t be put off by a little stubble, greasy hair, or calloused feet. We’re looking at your body through a professional lens – focused on things like your posture, muscle tone, energy balance, and how you’re feeling today.

Is It Okay To Smoke Tobacco, Drink Alcohol, Or Take Drugs Before My Massage?

Please avoid smoking tobacco before your session as the smell gets into the sheets and can linger in the room affecting the next client’s experience. It’s also not advisable to consume alcohol or drugs before a massage as it can amplify their effects and make you less aware of important sensations during the massage. The same applies to drug and substance use of any kind.

It’s crucial to be fully present and sober during the bodywork session to receive maximum benefits.

When Is It Not Okay To Get A Massage?

In situations such as cancer, certain heart conditions, or recent surgery, we recommend getting approval from your physician before receiving a massage. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions or concerns about whether massage is right for you.

Is It Okay To Exercise Right After A Massage?

We suggest light exercise such as walking, stretching, and yoga after your massage
and avoiding strenuous activities in the 24 hours immediately following. We especially advise against any activity reliant upon muscle strength for your safety, like weight lifting or rock climbing, as massage (especially deep tissue work) can weaken muscles for about a day.

Check In & Arrival

What Time Should I Arrive For My Appointment?

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to allow time for using the restroom (if needed) and getting some water. You’ll then check in with your practitioner and get on the table to start your session on time.

Will I Get A Full 60-Minutes Of Massage When I Book A 60-Minute Appointment?

Yes! At Whole Being Massage a 60-minute appointment means 60 minutes of hands-on time, provided you arrive on time.

Do I Have To Fill Out Any Paperwork?

You’ll need to fill out a short intake form and client waiver before your first appointment.

When booking online, you’ll complete these forms as part of your booking process. If you book over the phone, we’ll email you a link to complete these online at your convenience.

If you’re unable to fill out the forms before you come in, no worries! Just arrive at least 10 minutes before your treatment time and fill them out here.

What If I Am Running Late For My Appointment?

If you’re running late, we ask that you still show up for your appointment, as we have reserved that time for you.

Running more than five minutes late? Please call or text to let us know.

We try to allow ample time between appointments and do our best to provide your full treatment time if you arrive just a few minutes late. Please understand this is not a guarantee. If you arrive late, we reserve the right to end your treatment at the scheduled time by shortening your treatment by the amount of time you are late.

Cancellation & Change Policy

What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

We ask that you give as much notice as possible and at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be subject to a rescheduling fee of 50% of the full service price. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice (including missed appointments) will be charged a rescheduling fee of 100% of the full service price. We waive the rescheduling fee in the event of an emergency or illness.

We reserve the right to ask for prepayment or to refuse service to clients with repeated cancellations or no-shows.

How Do I Cancel Or Reschedule My Appointment?

You can cancel or reschedule online by clicking the link in your confirmation email. Or feel free to call, text, or email to let us know.

You cannot cancel or reschedule online within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment time. If this is the case, you will need to call us.

Payment & Gratuity

What Forms Of Payment Do You Accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and AMEX; local personal checks; and cash. We can also accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.

I Was In A Car Accident Or Injured At Work. I Have A Recommendation For Massage Treatment. Can You Help Me?

Yes! We provide treatment for motor vehicle accidents and workers’ compensation cases. Treatment includes a thorough intake and assessment, where we will develop a personalized treatment plan.

We will need a prescription from a primary care provider, your insurance company, and the adjuster’s information. We will verify your coverage and submit chart notes and billing requests directly to your insurance.

You would be responsible for any outstanding fees if your insurance denies payment.

Do You Take Insurance?

We do not currently accept health insurance. If your insurance covers massage, even though you pay out of pocket, we can provide receipts and chart notes for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

However, we can bill insurance for treatment relating to motor vehicle accidents and workers’ compensation injuries.

Do I Tip After A Massage Or Bodywork Treatment?

Tipping is optional but always appreciated. We encourage our therapists to set their rates to provide reasonable compensation without needing tips. However, many of our clients show appreciation through tipping, and we appreciate the sentiment!

Our Standards of Practice

Are Your Massage Therapists Licensed And Certified?

Practitioners who have the designation “LMT” after their name are Licensed Massage Therapists in the state of Idaho. Meaning they:

  • Completed at least 500 hours of approved training (including anatomy, physiology, pathology, ethics, and clinical hours)
  • Passed a national certification or licensing exam
  • Complete continuing education hours every year to maintain their license

Practitioners who are not LMTs have completed certification programs and continuing education hours in modalities that fall outside the scope of massage licensure in Idaho, such as Acupressure, Shiatsu, Thai Massage, and CranioSacral Therapy.

What Cleaning And Sanitizing Protocols Do You Follow?

Each treatment room, including the sauna, has high-efficiency HEPA air filters. We run diffusers with air-purifying, antimicrobial essential oils.

Our treatment tables, pillows, and bolsters have waterproof, sanitizable covers. Our linens are professionally laundered and kept in closed storage containers.

All surfaces touched by clients or practitioners get sanitized between sessions.

All practitioners must thoroughly wash their hands and arms up to the elbows before and after each session.
